Graduated with honors in the first promotion of directors of the Royal Superior Performing Art School of Madrid in 1996, she finished her studies with the creation of the performance "La function Delta". The premiere at the Círculo de Bellas Artes was such a success that the show was required to be at the Teatro Galileo the next season.

She obtained a Grant from the Culture Ministery to do an International M.A. in Directing Theatre at the Middlesex University of London. She finished that M.A. with the premiere of her creation of a Contemporary performance titled: "Duende, Flamenco-Lorca Journey" at the Simmonds Theatre.

What this director wants to research deeper in her career is how to train and direct actors. Her teachers in this field were Jorge Eines, Jose Luis Raymond and Emilio Hernández in Spain and Leon Rubin and John Wright in the U.K. At the Performing Arts School of Moscú she learns how to direct actors from Natalia Svereva, disciple of María Osipovna Knebel who writes "A Poetic of the Theatrical Pedagogic" inspired by the teachings of Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko. These are the main reasons for her original eclectic way of teaching acting.

El viejo Celoso

De Cervantes, cía Ala Teatro Musical, se reestrena en el Teatro Avanti de Córdoba en Octubre del 2010. La Casa de Castilla la Mancha en Córdoba invita a su compañía Ala Teatro Musical a participar en las Jornadas Cervantinas del 2010 para lo que Raquel Toledo selecciona el texto del viejo Celoso y realiza una dramaturgia contemporánea.

Training dancers and musicians in acting.

Raquel Toledo started training flamenco dancers as actresses in 1997 when she was invited by the Flamenco Con-fusión Company "Las Contratiempo" to revise the dramaturgic of "Tell it to me as a Tale" and work with the dancers on their acting abilities.

The training consisted of a series of exercises and improvisations to make the words alive in their bodies. To adjust their voices to their gestures and movements Raquel helps them find the moments through the choreography where they could breathe with interjections and audible sighs to tell the story in a more precise, alive and funny way.

They liked it so much that they decided to experiment and continued working with Raquel Toledo. She created a flamenco play with text for adults called "Sí o Sí, Una Comedia de Monas Flamencas" .To produce this original show they received a grant from the Ministery of Culture.

"Incidimos mucho en la escucha reacción, la motivación y consecución de objetivos haciendo que la acción y la caracterización que ya estaba en las coreografías se enriqueciera y llenara de matices. Fue un trabajo de investigación difícil y muy interesante. El talento de estas artistas no dejaba de sorprenderme, daban las intenciones y puntos de vista con mucho desparpajo y seguridad, los diálogos estaban llenos de ritmo y humor y la sinceridad que aportaban a los monólogos conseguía emocionarte."

Como directora de actores estuvo en la reposición de "Jugando con Pacuenca", y en "Circo Paya S.A.".

Realiza la dirección actoral y dramaturgia del espectáculo de la bailarina y coreógrafa Maite Bajo "Boca abajo" que estrena en el festival de la Comunidad de Madrid en el 2006.

Nada más volver a Córdoba, entrenará actoralmente al percusionista Jesús Rojas Conde "El Lápiz" y a la pianista Isabel Santofimia. Ha trabajado además la faceta actoral del guitarrista Jose Luis Fernández Antolí, el cajón José Tomé y las bailaoras de Flamenco Sonia Rodríguez y Laureana Granados. Para septiembre está previsto el trabajo con el bailaor Alex Rodríguez y la pianista Isabel Santofimia sobre poemas dramáticos de Ginés Liébana.
